John Buckley
Sr. Vice Commander - Navy

Bio – Commander John Buckley US Navy Reserve – Retired

Commander Buckley served on active duty onboard both the USS Spartanburg County (LST 1192) and the USS Thomas C. Hart (FF 1092) as a Surface Warfare Officer.   He deployed to the Mediterranean Sea, the North Atlantic including crossing the Arctic Circle and served with the multi-national Peace Keeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983.

His US Navy Reserve assignments included service as Patrol Boat Officer for Special Boat Unit 24, Norfolk, VA, a Repair Officer at a ship repair facility in Newport, RI and a project officer for both the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in Washington, DC and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI.

He achieved the rank of Commander, a Senior Level Officer. His personal decorations include three Navy Commendation Medals and two Navy Achievement Medals.

His civilian career included project engineering as a Maintenance Engineering Consultant, Facilities Manager of three different factories and two large commercial campuses.  He is currently aggregating all of his experience into Sustainability Engineering and Safety in the Heating and Air Conditioning discipline.

He is married to a New Britain native, Linda Chrusciel and they are the proud parents of two sons, David Sr. of Butler, Tennessee and US Army Staff Sergeant Kyle of full time Connecticut National Guard Chinook helicopter unit, a two tour Afghanistan Veteran.
